ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Rotaract Club of Tortola on August 22, 2015 held a School Supply Drive at both the Bolos and Island Services parking lots in Road Town.

The initiative was spearheaded by the Community Service Director, Mr Selvyn Dawson.

The aim of the drive is to provide less fortunate students in our community with a better opportunity to strive academically.

Proceeds of the School Supply Drive will aid families that were recommended by the Family Support Network.

Donation Boxes will be at the above-mentioned locations until August 31, 2015.

We would like to thank the community for all the support received thus far and for their continued support. Attempts will be made to conduct this project annually.

Rotaract is an international organisation for persons ages 18 to 30 who want to make a difference within their community.

The Rotaract Club of Tortola started in June 1984 by sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Tortola. Our motto is, ‘Fellowship through Service’.

Persons interested in joining this community service organisation can attend our meetings which are held every 1st, 3rd and 5th Fridays at the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports Conference Room at 5:30pm.

The meetings feature enlightening speakers, engaging discussions, professional development, visits from other clubs and at all times, fun!

Rotaractors also get together for service projects, social activities and leadership workshops.

Don't be an idiot. The article was posted so that members of our community can assist in their efforts. Did you even read the article?

The article is to promote the drive and get the greater community to donate. It is also a way to advertise to youth who would like to join a community service organization. No where in that article were they bragging. What have you done to make the BVI community better? Stop bashing young people who are trying to make a difference! Take your negativity elsewhere
