Renamed; ‘NDP Drive By, Fool The People Time’—Skelton-Cline
Claude O. Skelton-Cline, gave his views while speaking on his weekly radio show, Honestly Speaking—aired on ZBVI 780 AM—on Tuesday July 31, 2018.
Skelton-Cline adopted this position after listening to the newly elected Chairman of the NDP and Co-Leader of Government Business, Honourable Myron V. Walwyn (AL), responding to the Leader of the Opposition, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1), in addressing and defending the People’s concern.
The Co Leader Hon Walwyn was on his party’s so-called ‘Drive Time’ where he claimed with a “straight face” that there was “no corruption in the NDP,” despite former Governor John S. Duncan OBE, the House of Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee and Auditor General, Sonia M. Webster saying otherwise.
Furthermore, because of the mistrust of the NDP Government, the United Kingdom (UK) set up and Alternative Government called the ‘Recovery Board,’ in order for the Smith-Administration to keep their hands off the public recovery funds.
Walwyn stranger to the truth
Hon Walwyn also told a bold faced lie, when he claimed that if the Opposition Leader labeled the NDP as ‘corrupt’ it could hinder the Administration “from getting loans to rebuild”.
Financial Secretary Glenroy A. Forbes, has however, dismissed that line of argument weeks ago, when he told local media that the real reason is “the lack of audited financial reports.”
The commentator, on the radio show also made that point yesterday, recalling that it was the Financial Secretary, “who reported that the NDP Government is unable to secure loan funding and access the UK guarantee, due to the required audited financial statements.”
Mr Skelton-Cline added that, “for the newly elected leader of the NDP and co-leader of Government Business Mr Walwyn, to suggest now that it is the fault of the leader of the Opposition, is not only “intellectually dishonest, it is ridiculous and flies in the face of people with common sense.”
The new Government Co-Leader—Hon Walwyn—also in his ‘Drive Time’ message, attempted to distance himself from the NDP and according to Mr Skelton-Cline, “make believe that things are not so bad”, which the radio commentator described as “disingenuous”.
The spin machine
In his commentary on the NDP Co-leader, Mr Skelton-Cline noted too that Mr Walwyn, “took the time to tell the public of all the financial Bills and amendments that the NDP government had passed but failed to accept responsibility for the blatant violations by the very same NDP Government.”
In a surprise move, Hon Walwyn who is under investigation for a small wall around the high school costing the taxpayers $1.6 M, claimed that Opposition Leader Hon Fahie does not have the “moral rectitude to talk about corruption”, to which Skelton-Cline said to Hon Walwyn “man go sit down.”

I just want to see everybody admit to their wrong, take responsibility and turn themselves in to the police. I'm not VIP either because who swinging isn't clean either. I just hope by time election come that a set of people who are not greedy and care for the BVI and will keep their hands clean and get us out this ditch because up to now I ain't see not one person to go vote for.
We in trouble
I am yet to hear anything positive from this gentleman. Honestly, is there nothing positive that he can address in Honestly Speaking? Inspite of the terrible events of 2017, several hundred students just graduated across the Territory... parents and children/young people across this country are joyful... Man of God, you are not drawing people close to you and your way of thinking.
