BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI - With the reassignment of the Junior Minister portfolios causing some amount of public controversy, ZBVI 780am Honestly Speaking moderator Mr Claude O. Skelton-Cline says the reassignment now provides an opportunity for both ministers to expand their portfolios.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) in a statement yesterday, November 26, 2019, noted that
Honourable Shereen D. Flax-Charles (AL) has now been appointed the Junior Minister for Trade and Economic Development while Honourable Sharie B. de Castro (AL) has been appointed Junior Minister for Tourism, effective November 25, 2019.

"Indeed, I continue to see the benefits and merit in capacity building among elected Members. This is evident in the stellar performance of each Minister who performed in the role of Deputy Premier, albeit on a rotational basis," Hon Fahie said as part of his official media statement.

Capacity Building

He said the reassignment of the portfolios came an opportune time when "unconventional approaches" are needed to push the legislative agenda of the government and the decision comes after Premier Fahie made all his Ministers serve as Deputy Premier.

"It’s is always good to move away from what is familiar, as I am building capacity across my Government. There is an opportunity to get tourism expertise at this time within the trade and economic agenda," Hon Fahie further went on to say.

Skelton-Cline in his radio commentary noted, "We trust that both Junior ministers, they too, will find this as an opportunity in building their own portfolios and their capacities and helping to advance this territory for the good of all of us"

"We continue to celebrate the only two women in government and we trust that will be a wonderful opportunity for them," he said.

I can't seem to get it outa my head; the repetition of the words Transparency and Accountability, (so much so that I sometimes woke up in the wee hours repeating those same words, transparency, accountability) Hon Fahie often used in his utterances while he was leader of the Opposition. Another term was about "Policing ourselves b4 we are policed by others in ways we wouldn't like".
Well, the time has come Hon Fahie, for you to Practice exactly what you have been preaching. Here we have our Junior Minister of Trade attending a parliamentary Trade event in the UK, while at the same time she is junior Minister of Tourism; while the former Junior Minister of Tourism sits in the Junior Minister of Trade seat. Some things are just not adding up Hon premier. Thanks to the working of the Internet, we are all becoming geniuses.

When will Claude give us a report on his huge consultancy contract?

You don't get it... THIS is his report on the consultancy project. The "consultancy" was just a reward for him playing the game and being a talking head for the benefit of the government on the opinion talk show circuit. THIS is his JOB.
