Randy Ashton charged with damage to property over stolen ‘Purcell plants’
The flowers were planted the day before, through District Representative, Honourable Alvera Maduro-Caines’ (R6), 'Youth Summer Beatification Project,' for children between the ages of 12 and 17.
Police sources said, Mr Ashton, who runs a car-wash in the public parking lot close to Scotia Bank, was however, only charged with damaged to property.
Kudos to police- Hon Maduro-Caines
Many residents have since expressed their surprise by the development, since Mr Ashton is described as 'always kind and very professional’ with his customers.
Hon Maduro-Caines in a Facebook post on August 25, 2018, praised the members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) for “the quick action.”
The second term Legislator also singled out Inspector Jacqueline Tom-Christopher, who Hon Maduro-Caines said, “took the lead in this case and went beyond, to get it solved and updated us every step of the way.”
