WEST END, Tortola, VI - It was said to have been the quick response of a neighbour that averted what could have been a fire that could have completely destroyed a vehicle at Belmont, West End (WE) Tortola earlier tonight January 29, 2015.

No one was said to have been in the vehicle that was parked along the road that according to an eyewitness burst into flames. It was reportedly close to a house in the area and upon seeing the engine area of the vehicle on fire the neighbour quickly responded, putting the fire out.

"By the time the Fire people got [here] there wasn't anything to do because the neighbour had already put the fire out," said the eyewitness.

Asked if any other area of the vehicle was damaged by the fire the eyewitness responded, "No, it was just a little thing."

when the vip was inn, why did they not fix the fire station, why did they not fix the police station, I guess those problem just came into effect when the ndp got inn to power. I saw kedrick got everything he wanted up in the 8th from the vip government when there were on the back bench, u know why he got it, he did not spend all his his time trying to make the vip look bad, he kept pushing in a positive way and he got positive results, but no not the vip, they bashed and bashed for the last 3yrs.

I agree that because of this brave neighbor the fire was kept under control, he did a wonderful job along with other residents who came after to assist. The fire officers did a great job as well, putting the fire completely out. It took them a matter on minutes to do their jobs. Job well done...Thank God no one was injured!
