DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- Top of the table team Pure Playaz saw their undefeated record in the 2019 Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League snapped by DA 3rd, although under controversial circumstances, at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff's Bottom, Tortola, on Friday, September 27, 2019.

DA 3rd were leading 66-65, with 59.6 seconds on the game clock, when the encounter was called off due to players from Pure Playaz allegedly showing disrespect to the referee.

Akeem Nibbs was the main player taking the fight to Pure Playaz and ended with 27 points, while draft player Nathaniel J. Malone aka ‘Nat’ dropped in 14 points and pulled 7 rebounds.

With Romain Minott, Ray D. Victor, Nicols Charles and Rowan Victor having a cold night, Khalid Gerald stepped up with 34 points and 10 rebounds.

It is unclear at this time if any sanctions will be imposed on Pure Playaz, who returned on Saturday, September 28, 2019 to hammer Young Empire 130-60.

Nicols Charles led the scoring with 28 points, including 8 three-pointers, as 7 Pure Playaz men achieved double figure scores.

Wins for Skilful Ballers & Splash Brothers

Meanwhile, on Friday, Skilful Ballers beat Medics 115-65 and 79 overcame Nex 78-71.

On Saturday, Splash Brothers toppled DA 3rd 83-76, with Ashield Frett and Jamoii Dagou (10 rebounds) both getting 23 points for Splash Brothers.

Willful Skilful down Young Starz

In the lone Junior Division Game on Saturday, Wilful Skilful dimmed Young Starz 69-47.

Keaquan Greenaway netted 14 points and Kie Juan Barzey 10 for the winners while Keishon Gardener had a game high 17 for Young Starz.
