ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Information reaching Virgin Islands News Online is that a break-in occurred at the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) and several items have been discovered missing.

Sources revealed that the act, which was uncovered earlier today, February 4, 2014 occurred in acting Principal Wade W. Tobin's office at the High School. The office was reportedly left ransacked following the break-in which is believed to have occurred overnight.

It was further disclosed that two computers were discovered among the items that were stolen, but it is unclear whether any other items might have been taken during the break in.

The school’s security cameras are reportedly non-functional and it remains unclear whether the break-in was noticed by the school’s security.

Principal Tobin declined to comment on the matter when contacted.

The matter has since been reported to the authorities and Officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) were called in and conducted investigations. Police Information Officer, Diane Drayton said, "Police are investigating a report made this morning of a break-in into the Principal's office at the ESHS. Electronic items were discovered missing."

What is the use of those security officers other than harassing the children about their dress code?

Here we go...something like this happen and instead of dealing with the issue, you choose to target the security officers and your comment is all about them harassing the kids about their uniforms. Of course they should because of the manner in which your kids turn up to school with pants beneath their ass.., short skirts and so on..

Schools with non-functional security cameras is the norm rather than the exception and the folks at the Education Department are well aware of it

It is true. The student run things and they have somebody to run to when they committ these crimes. It is time for authorities to stand up to delinquents youths or the future is really dim for the BzvI.

Mr. Tobin, be strong in the Lord. This job is your test but stay firm and say much prayers. God will definitely bring you through the storms.

I have no doubt that you pray for the children under your care. Continue to show them kindness during this tribulation hour. This too shall pass. Remember, God has your back!!

    Peace and blessings to you.

The principal does not have the support of the Ministry, so there will always be problems.
