Power outages expected today as BVIEC upgrades high voltage system

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) is notifying customers on Tortola, in the areas of Sophie Bay, that there will be no electricity supply today Tuesday, August 13, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 P.M

The Corporation said the purpose of this outage is to upgrade the high voltage system.

Meanwhile, BVIEC also noted that it will be performing a software upgrade that will impact access to their eCARe Online payment Platform today from 5 pm.

“This maintenance is expected to take up to 9 hours to complete. To minimize the impact on our customers, every effort will be made to ensure that access to eCARe is re-established as quickly as possible,” the release noted.

The corporation said that it regrets any inconvenience the downtime and scheduled maintenance will cause.
