Police officers had to 'run for their lives' after man allegedly sets 2 pit bulls on them
“It was so frightening to me, all now my heart racing just thinking of it. Thank God the police vehicle was there,” he said at the start of the trial at the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday February 12, 2020.
He said during the ordeal on June 17, 2018, his only thoughts were “run for my life, or I will die.”
Officer Matthew testified that before the defendant ran to his dogs, he told the officers, “If all you don't come out in my place today, I will let go my dogs on all you.”
Similarly, Officer Carlton Saunders, who was also responding to the dispute, said: “We had to run, we were in fear for our lives.”
The Armed Response Unit was called for backup after which they arrested and charged the defendant with assault on police, failure to register dogs and reckless and negligent act.
Domestic dispute
The officers said the defendant’s wife called the police station to make a report that her husband was in breach of a protection order she had against him.
Officer Matthew said the crux of the matter was that the Virtual Complainant (VC) said she bought some building materials to renovate her section of the house she shared with her husband.
She resided to the front and her husband towards the back of the same dwelling home.
On that day, the defendant decided to renovate the house in her section with the materials without her consent.
When the officers arrived at the scene, the defendant was spotted inside the house not far from his wife and overheard what was being said.
The defendant subsequently fled to his section but blurted out that the house belonged to him, and his wife is pregnant again with his child because she came to his side of the house.
He also reportedly said the protection order she spoke of had expired.
The trial is expected to continue on February 25, 2020.
Michael Maduro is representing the defendant during the criminal proceedings.

On a separate note, a lot of people stirs up issues to get innocent ones in trouble. The saying is really true: a chain is as strong as its weakest link. Look for the weakest link in your life.

Tell me where you see domestic violence in this? Like her blog below says marriages and relationships have trials and tribulations. 3rd parties ought to keep out.
YES SHE DEFINITELY CAN, ONCE THEY CAN TAKE CARE OF ALL THOSE CHILDREN WITH NO STRESS TO THE GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY. CHILDREN ARE VERY EXPENSIVE TO TAKE CARD OF.
@Reply
You can have as many kids as you wish when you can take care of them. If you have to be @#%^^ up people for help that's not an option.
While he may have had good intentions, their dispute apparently was still ongoing as well as an active restraining order. He was in the wrong anyhow you looked at it. Then he made it worse by setting dogs on the responding officers? sigh... how stupid can one possibly get?
he was using the materials for her side

Pitbull's are known to be unpredictable- imagine one escapes and mauls a child, or anyone for that matter. We need to update our laws! For the police's sake too!
And her... she used her real name and said it like it is
I will keep reminding people to give God the respect He deserves...everything said is meaningless when people use common letters..."god" is an idol "God" is supreme.
