PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), along with Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Hon Kye M. Rymer(R5), today took time out of their busy schedules to intermingle with several students in a classroom at the H.Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) in Paraquita Bay, Tortola.

In a Facebook post this afternoon, October 3, 2019, Premier Fahie said, "It is always a pleasure to visit the H. L Stoutt Community College to mingle with our future professionals and leaders who are preparing for the BVI of tomorrow. Minister Rymer and I were happy to hear from them."

In the photos posted, the Premier can be seen lecturing and illustrating to the students in a classroom, while Hon Rymer sat amongst those in the classroom watching the presentation of the Premier before giving his own 'Pep-talk'.

"As we visited their classrooms and the hallways on every floor, they shared with us their visions for tomorrow. We left there more inspired and knowing that as a Government we must continue to do our part to prepare the BVI for the best so that our children can lead a better BVI tomorrow," Premier Fahie said.

Just recently, the Hon Fahie led Virgin Islands Party (VIP) commitment to education was lauded by persons in neighbouring US Virgin Islands (USVI).

In an editorial in the popular newspaper, Virgin Islands Daily News, they marvelled at how the Virgin Islands was able to rebuild and refurbish several schools damaged by the hurricanes of September 2017 and was particularly impressed with the L. Adorothy Turnbull Building.

Myron & Smith should visit ESHS now that it's re-built and do the same thing.

This Premier was always on the right foot with education and interacting with students and I can tell you this is one of his strong poins. Students of the pass and present respect this man highly. How do I know? I pay close attention to our young people and I give them my listening ear. I think he took many pages from Hon Stoutt and Hon. R.T.O'Neal. A time out is necessary unless you go amongst the people you cant know their heart beat. Dont let someone tell you, you must see and feel it for your self. Good going

Please come and mingle and give a pep talk to the young men that hangs out by the shak 'coconut stand' in Purcell Estate across from that big blue building. There might be some future leaders among them but they just are not aware. Help please.
