@hmm..are you for real? have you not noticed that the BVI roads are actually setup for right hand drive vehicles and not the left hand drive ones!!! well again i guess you do not own a car and that you have to walk wherever your location destination is..that is why you have not noticed.
if that is the case then you are forgiven for such a silly and foolish statement.

right hand side vehicles are meant for this country, you wuld no longer get glare in your eyes at night time and you can also overtake safely something that can't happen with a lefthand side car

Why should u ban right hand drive vehicle when tortola is a British country and the damn road is in fact set up to serve right hand drive vehicles best you fool..... ever noticed the governor vehicles lately has always been a right hand drive?? Accidents are always going to happen banning something doesn't solve the problem!!!

The governor is from England, not the Virgin Islands. We drive left, left. It might be unusual, but it works!! A right hand drive almost ran me off the road this morning. It seems like they gauge off the oncoming traffic and not their side of the road. I don't know about banning but they are some frigging nuisances...
      • Wes (25/10/2016, 16:02) Like (14) Dislike (9) Reply
Thats because the driver is an idiot not the car is right hand drive. The driver sits towards the middle of the road in a right hand drive which is better to judge the oncoming traffic. jeez um bread

Banning Right Hand Drive Vehicles will not stop the silly and iresponsible driving in the BVI. Drivers need to be more driver and road user friendly, these accidents can certainly be avoided if drivers driver with due care and attention.

People here drive like Morans. I lived in the States where you drive in six lanes of traffic. Three in each direction and they don't have as many accidents as here. And they drive on the right.I had to get use to driving on the left.

So stupid of u to say the governor from England and not even realise England is a British place that drives on the same blasted side as we in the British Virgin Islands hence the reason the road is set up the way it is, it suits right hand drive vehicle better so stop being ignorant. Have u seen any major u.s country if any at all , driving on the left like us ?? Or any right hand drive cars right hand drive cars more the left hand drive cars?? In the u.s.a the cars drives on the right and drivers sit on the left so the drivers can have better view of each other and not to mention the passenger would be getting out onto the sidewalk instead of in the street like all who on tortola driving and letting their passenger out their left hand drive cars straight into the road.... now there's some COMMON SENSE for u.

Ok...so using your logic the US Virgin Islands is a US territory but they drive on the left. In America they drive on the right... So what really is your point with that long ass comment...I really couldn't care less what the hell the governor drives. I will continue to drive with my steering wheel on the left. WE are the Virgin Islands, NOT ENGLAND..

We have only been left left since we could no longer import cars cheaply from europe, or Antigua. Now there is a cheaper source from Japan. Whatever side, all drivers should drive sensibly within their capabilies, and the vehicle, and the road.

The number of ignorant people commenting here is amazing. Why in the world would you ban right-hand drive cars when they're meant to be driven on the left?? If you've even been stuck behind a large truck in a left-hand drive car, in order to overtake you would have to be well into the opposing lane before you're able to get a clear view around the truck, and there's absolutely nothing safe about that

We were getting along just fine with our left hand drives for years..The only case you all can make for right hand drives is overtaking and dropping off passengers...which doesn't happen than often any, except in buses, which I agree need to be on the correct side. I seldom hear the reason for an accident bring "I was overtaking but I couldn't see what was coming"...give me a break.

VI drivers need to drive defensively. They need to slow down and drive consistent with road and weather conditions. 30 miles per hour means that a driver can drive up to 30 miles per hour if the driver can do so safely, conditions permitting. It does not mean the minimum speed you can drive. Speed and reckless driving kills, injures and maims. BVI roads are not conducive to high speeds. The BVI probably has the highest number of accidents per capita in the world. Reckless driving and resulting injuries place a heavy burden on medical resources, insurance, families, employers, national productivity, personal finances......etc.

    • ...... (25/10/2016, 22:51) Like (3) Dislike (0) Reply
It was sold by Denmark which means what now?? You asked me for a US "country"....which doesn't make sense in itself. You asked me to name another US territory who drives on the left like we do and I gave you one. There are always reasons, just like there are reasons why we drive on the left left. You asked me to name one other place and I did. So they are just as backwards as us then....or even more so because they don't drive right hand drives at all...anyway...I must admit, this is getting silly now...
