Online book of condolence created for late Hon Ralph T. O'Neal OBE
According to a media release from the Government Information Service (GIS), the book is expected to be launched by December 9, 2019, and tributes can be sent to tributes@gov.vg.
Director of Communications Mrs Arliene T. Penn said Honourable O’Neal has touched the lives of many and that there has been an outpouring of requests from many persons and organisations locally, regionally and internationally who wish to share tributes.
“People are desirous of sharing their stories and the online book of condolence will provide an avenue to do so. The online book of condolence will serve as a historical document as people will be able to tell the story of Honourable O’Neal from many perspectives,” she said.
Document will remain online
The release also noted that the online condolences book will serve as a historical online document that will be available for generations to come and tributes must be sent by December 6, 2019, and additional information can be requested by calling 284-468-2152.
Following the passing of Honourable O’Neal on November 11, 2019, current VI legislators and several others were quick to pay homage via posts on their various social media pages.
Ahead of the Funeral planned for Wednesday, December 11, 2019, the body of Hon O’Neal will lie in state at the House of Assembly (HoA) Chambers from Monday, December 9 to Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
The public viewing is from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm on both days and this will be followed by Wednesday's Funeral at the Multipurpose Sports Complex.
