“No one trusts anyone in government, they don’t trust them so this agency [RDA] was established to manage the recovery and development of the territory to the tune of 580M, an agency,” he said, pointing to the fact that the UK refused to let the Premier Smith led NDP manage the territory’s own development. SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – Hon Julian Fraser RA, Chairman of the new Progressives United (PU) party continues his vicious tirade against the Premier Dr D. Orlando Smith (AL) and Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL) led National Democratic Party (NDP 1) Government.

According to Mr Fraser—who was at the time speaking at a PU prep rally on Monday, February 4, 2019, in District 3, Sea Cows Bay—absolutely no one trusts the sitting National Democratic Party government and due to that, the Virgin Islands (VI) will now find itself in debt for a long time.

No Trust in NDP – Fraser

“No one trusts anyone in government, they don’t trust them so this agency [RDA] was established to manage the recovery and development of the territory to the tune of $580M, an agency,” he said, pointing to the fact that the UK refused to let the Premier Smith led NDP 1 manage the territory’s own development.

“They went out and they hired a man from Fiji… they paying him over $300,000 a year and you are going to have to pay back that $580M, you wouldn’t be around when it’s finished paying off… your grandchildren and the rest of them, they [are] going to be the ones paying it off,” he told those gathered at the rally.

The PU Chairman further warned the people of the territory to be careful, as poor financial management and other actions of the very NDP government, is precisely why the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) was created.

Born in debt

“Imagine being born in debt, debt that you had nothing to do with, only for the reasons of your incompetent politicians… if our politicians were competent they would be the ones managing that fund… but incompetence is what happened, no one trusts them,” Hon Fraser said.

“You got a government that takes $7.2M and send it in the clouds, and it never came back and nobody says anything about it,” Mr Fraser recollected.

“You know what could have been done with that money?” he posited to those gathered. Mr Fraser was at the time referencing the failed BVI Airways project under the sitting NDP 1 government.

Firstly, I am sorry for the delay in responding and I want to thank you for your question and the opportunity to dialogue with you in this very important question. In an effort to keep it precise I would summarize by saying that we all have been in some sort of a relationship before. We also know that newly formed relationships usually for the better part works almost perfectly until a big toe is stepped on then all hell break lose. The word “forgiveness” and the phrase “lets work it out” are regrettably neglected. I believe this is what has unfortunately happened not only within the NDP Govt. Time won’t permit me to explain in full details like I would want to but hopefully one day we can “chat”. Persons who seek to be elected or re-elected for that matter MUST put country above self in ALL aspect of governing the Territory and indeed work BETTER TOGETHER because we are definitely BETTER and STRONGER TOGETHER! This is the only way to move our Territory FORWARD!

That NDP gov’t Squandered a lot of our tax payers monies and not a thing will come out of it.. No one will be held accountable.. whenever I think on how they misused our monies it just hurts so badly..wickedness done in the dark must and will come to light..how can the NEP gov’t claim to be looking out for us the people when they robbed us in so many ways.. but ya know God don’t sleep.. He sits High but He looks low and He sees all of the injustices of one man to another including that gov’t..God will be their judge and jury for none of them will be held accountable for all their wrong doings for “man” will not hold them accountable..come Election Day a new Gov’t will be formed and all that monies wasted/lost will remain “poof”..

You didn't think about children being born into debt when under the VIP Administration you did not listen to the people and awarded Biwater (a company that had already done damage in other countries) 40 million plus to start a project that by any means would be complete.

Not on any polotical side but all of you need to stop playing innocent because your not the government of the day and actually present the way forward for the country.
