ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The New Life Baptist Church (NLBC) will from October 5 to 10, 2014 host POWER PLUS, a crusade under the theme ‘The Year of Repositioning’ and four preachers will be coming from the United States to minister to persons here.

Other POWER UP SESSIONS will be facilitated by host pastors, Bishop John I. Cline and Pastor Claude Skelton-Cline.

POWER PLUS will also feature musical ministry by the New Life Baptist Church’s Teen and Senior Choirs, Minister Henderson Title, Nicole Donovan and recording artist and NLBC Choir Director DeAnna Wattley.

Speaking to  this news site, Public Relations Officer of NLBC Kareem-Nelson Hull said, “Our motto has always been bringing the Master’s Word, creating an environment where Christians and non-Christians are able to learn, hear the word of God delivered at different levels.”

“As the Bible said the Word shall not return void so we expect people who come to the conference to leave there changed. We expect Christians to be challenged to a different level and we expect people to benefit in a Christian atmosphere where all of us are fellowshipping as one,” said Hull.

Are the one who told the stars when to shine in the evening and who tells the ocean it can only come this far. If so, then you decide who can preach God's word!!! Some of you only have a religious spirit. You know how to tell others to live according to what you think is right just like the Scribes and Pharisees. And since you know all that you should know how Jesus felt about them. Stop it!! What if God said to you, "that thing that you did last year, or the year before, or three years ago, or even last night...that thing...I no longer will hear from you, see your face, that's it, I am done with you? What would you do? How would you feel? That thing for you may not be a strip club or a woman or a man, but it is still a sin. Do you have a relationship with God? Would you like him to treat you like that because of your struggles? So why must he treat Bishop Jones like that. We all sin and come short of the glory of God. There is only one man who has ever walked on earth who did not do that. His name is Jesus. It is why the Book, says, leave all judgment to him as our hearts are not pure enough to judge other people. We should therefore concern ourselves about our ownselves as God will only enquire to us about us. I pray for maturity of spirit for you if you are a born again believer and that you would come to know Christ if you are not.

speaking of which, it'd be quicker if the congregation just slipped dollars into these guys waists while they perform than into a collection jar

And I hope that you have an umbrella for the rain of vengeance that might befall you for making mockery of men of God. Be not deceived, God is not mocked and vengeance is His, says the Lord. If they are disingenious, God will handle their judgement. It is not for you to do. The Word of God says, touch not my anointed, do my prophets no harm. You have no way of knowing whether what you say is true of the guys who are coming. You are speculating and should be careful. Only God knows their hearts, while you may see or speculate on their actions. Remember, whatsoever a man sows, he shall reap. You sow judgment and you will reap judgment. May God purify your hearts.

neither do you know whats in their hearts. dont be foolish and so trusting for you dont know these people.
its interesting/pathetic how docile and obedient you are. you would have made an excellent slave.

I never pretended to know what was in their hearts, you did, by insinuating that they are hustlers. Somebody had to give you another chance at some stage of your life for something you did wrong or moe than once...Be kind and stop judging a person's current situation from their past. Show love, that's all I am saying. I am not docile oralways obedien eithert. I am human. I do not know what is in their hearts but I am not judging them. They can sin and be forgiven. So can you. So why should God forgive your sins and not theirs? I can make my own decisions and yes if my circumstances were that I was a slave, I would have been an excellent one until my circumstances change. We do always control the circumstances, but we can control our reaction to them.

companion Loretta with him. Can't wait to see.

I pray that God has mercy on all of you who mock Him. You go to work and you are paid. You go to the doctor and you pay him. Some of you go to the obeah man and pay him. Yet the kingdom of God must receive no money. You live in an economy here on earth and the kingdom of God has an economy here on earth. It takes money to run any economy and God's economy is no exception. There are crooks everywhere, both in God's kingdom and out, but that does not mean everybody should be judged that way and in particular not by you as you do not have the appropriate skillset to do so. I thank God that he has left judgment open to one being, Himself, as in His infinite wisdom, Heknows that no one else qualifies to judge. I pray for you all that you would come to Christ.

I hope Brian Cairn can speak of his oh so prophetising he made last year which are still to manifest. It is quite intriguing and indulging but is it truthful? Pay to be blessed people.

Not defending Prohet Carn but both his prophecies to me came true. Also prophecies are not always automatic. These men of God do see stuff now but sometimes they do not know when it will happen and it can take years to happen. Remember God gave Joseph a dream at 17 that was not fulfilled until he was 30, 13 years later. Not judging people. You are not wise enough to know their agenda and mandate. Leave it to God.

@ '@Well' obviously you weren't in the midst last year as the man gave timelines for these things to manifest...mis-informed and typing away ...4 whole lines
        • @ Well (01/10/2014, 14:46) Like (0) Dislike (5) Reply
I am not misinformed. I was speaking generally about prophecies. However, if he gave timelines then he might have been off, so don't give him any more of your rmoney. Also, don't come to hear the prophecies, come to hear from God and be blessed. If what you say is true then you might have a right to not trust his prophecies. But note that God himself can change a future prediction also based on the behavior of individuals so the prophet can see it in the spirit realm but it does not have to come to pass if there is inaction on the other side or something else that stops it from occurring. So it is not necessarily true that he was off. See Hezikiah in this regard, where his fate was determined and prophesied and after he prayed, God changed the circumstances. Prophets are not God so be guided by your own spirit. As I said, he gave me two on two separate occasions and both came to pass. I am still waiting on the second half of the second one, but it is shaping up nicely. By the way, Brian Carn is paid a fee to come to the BVI. He is not paid what he collects. All offerings go to NLBC and not to Carn's pocket. So it does not profit him to raise more offering as his fee would not increase proportionately. The church will never allow that kind of exploitation as it has the potential to corrupt anybody even a human pastor.

If you really want to talk to God with your heart and soul, you can do this every day in the confines of your own home. Who says you have to prove to people how your heart feels about God? Who says you have to belong to a club namely a church, or you won't go to heaven? If someone tells you this then they are putting themselves even above God, which is a very good reason to stay away from them.
You can sing a make a joyful sound at home, so I am not a follower of people who scream at the top of their lungs trying to convince me they are better than me just because they sit in a church every week. I will have to deal with God when I meet him one day and I content with that. I do a lot of community work and volunteer for anything I can do to help and yet that is not good enough for some of you holy rollers. Well too bad, worry about yourselves..OK?

I thought the bible said to test the spirit and that not all that claim to be holy are holy. Every year pasta bringing a pack of vultures to prey upon the less fortunate and misinformed and nobody see the truth yet. Money, money, money they guys ain't preaching nowhere for free. They aren't spreading the word if they aren't getting a check. The profit basically said in an interview that he needs financial inspiration to get his visions and that he has to practice being a prophet. Practice??? Is he God's messenger or a magician.

It most certainly did and if you have tested it and know he is not holy, then leave the rest of us to see for ourselves. Some of us are slower than others :-) I have no doubt some preachers are as you speak, but I do believe that they have to live just like the rest of us and just as some of us live above our means, some of them do to. They are humans. We have just been socialised to believe that everybody else should have a good life and a grand time on earth except pastors. Isn't that the same slave mentality that we cry out about we are trying to leave them with...No money on earth as all the joy is in heaven. If pastoring is their job, then they should be paid. Plain and simple. If they prophesy untruth to rip people off, then may God deal with them accordingly.

By then it might be too late. Remember Jim Jones and David Koresh help was on its way but was too late. If You honestly believe a pastor should eat out of golden plates while the church members starve youre better off joining a cult.

Those are extreme examples and two over the last two thousand years since Jesus walked the earth. Did Bernie Madoff's ponzi scheme stop investors from investing in securities. No it did not. It just made them more careful. It is the same with people purporting to be men of God.We are careful with who we allow to minister to us and when we see any fraud we can act accordingly. I do not think anyone should starve. But I do believe that a pastor should receivea salary for the work they do from the Church. The money church members at NLBC tithes go to the churchand the running of the church, not to the pastors anyway. So I hear your concern generally, but not applicable to the current circumstances.

If we were born in the middle east we would probably have been Muslims. If we were born in China we might have been Buddhist, India- Hinduism etc. Why did we chose christianity? Your mother told you to go to church because her mother told her to go to church and the cycle continued that way for generations which goes as far back as slavery. Very little of us questioned our parents when they told us to go to the christian church. We obeyed and listened to the pastor and we began a journey that ultimately led to us becoming christians. The question is how did we come to the conclusion that this was the right way to go? Our parents didnt do any research and didnt know the history of christianity beyond the words that they read in the Bible. Very few of us would also go on to research the history of christianity and the Bible. Frankly, we accepted what we were commanded to do. Mothers bring their children to church and they grow up only knowing christianity and it's basically a foregone conclusion that they would also be christians. Who chose the books that would be in the Bible, who chose the books that would be omitted. Many people do not know or care that there are other books found with the Dead Sea Scrolls. I have seen many pastors take the same scripture and give different explanations for what the scripture meant. The Bible wasn't originally written in English and at the time some words did not have an English translation. At the end of the day are you just a part of the cycle or did you choose what you wanted to be.

I wonder if a lot of Christians know that many of the stories in the Bible are about Black people, especially in the Old Testament. I wonder if many people know that the religion of Christianity was stolen from the ancient blacks of Egypt, the seat of the oldest civilization. People, start researching; it is time to uncover the truth about your religion and black people of Egypt and Ethopia. The scales are being lifted from many eyes. Thanks to revealed facts...
