‘NBA All Stars’ beat ‘Best of the VI’
The result was in little doubt from the start as the visitors, whom had been conducting a week long Camp at the Centre, always seemed to have a little extra when it mattered most. However, the local players stuck to the task and put on a good account of themselves, ending the first quarter all even at 32-32.
The match became almost a three pointer shooting contest, with Steve E. Parillon leading the way in the second quarter, which ended at 67-68.
The Third quarter finished 106-94 and a tense final 10 minutes saw the hosts push the visitors all the way right up until the final buzzer when a two point effort to tie the game went narrowly wide to leave the score 128-126.
Camp was about building character
Bishop John I. Cline was a very happy man after the game, although he hoped for a local victory. “The Camp is to instil discipline, team work and conflict resolution,” he explained.
“It’s building character for the boys from a spiritual standpoint. We ask them to think positive, upgrade their thinking in life and how to get through life with the help of God. Two years in a row the visitors from the USA have won and I really wanted us to win tonight and they came very close.”
The Camp facilitator, Rich Mahler, a chaplain for the New York Knicks, helps bring the players down from within the ranks of the NBA.
“What I love most is that God has given me a basketball to tell other people about him. We go around the world doing the Outreach Xperience and coming here is so special. Some of those players have been working with us for 5 years now and it was good to see how they are developing both on and off the court.”
The entire basketball extravaganza was sponsored by CCT Global Communications.

Is it that you are brighter than you seem and you're just being willful? I hope that's the case for your sake.
