ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Below is a Mother’s Day Message from Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Honourable Kye M. Rymer (R5):

“Like the song writer says “Thank God for a Mother like mine” I too would like to say thank God for all the mothers who surround me. So on this special day set aside for mothers, I first recognise my wife, Suzanne, for the remarkable way she has mothered our two beautiful daughters.

To my mother, Shirley Rhymer, and my mother in law, Patsy Lake, and the roles you play in my life, I thank you both from the bottom of my heart.

To all mothers of the Fifth District, and by extension all mothers in the Virgin Islands, including the mothers in the Ministry of Transportation, Works and Utilities; I recognise each one of you for your varied contributions as you balance family and work.

On this Mother’s Day it is my hope that as loving and grateful people you will take a moment to reflect and thank the mothers in your lives. Whomever you think of, when you think about Mother’s Day, be sure to take a moment, and remember the moms that raised us, their big hearts that warmed us, and those of blessed memory that we miss dearly.

Giving flowers is always good, but I hope that on this Mother’s Day 2019, we will commit to doing much more: through deeds that match our words, let us give our mothers the love and respect they deserve on this their special day.

Happy Mother’s Day!
