Mother & son who allegedly cursed Police Officer land in court
They are Ms Lynette George and son Ellison George. In the Magistrates' Court yesterday January 26, 2014 when they were placed in the defendants’ box, Ellison George pleaded guilty to the charge of using indecent language to a police officer in the course of duty but when it came to the allegations of obstructing police in the line of duty and disorderly conduct he pleaded not guilty.
For his mother on the allegations of using indecent language, where it was said that she told the female police officer, “You police like to F*&*^ harass people you give the boy a F**&^ ticket already,” she pleaded not guilty. “Not Guilty,” she also said as the allegations of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct were read to her in open court by Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards.
The episode allegedly took place on July 19, 2013 when Police Officer with the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Ms Germma Williams was on duty in the vicinity of First Bank. The Officer had noticed a motor vehicle carrying the license plate number RT 0865 parked in a no parking zone where “No Parking” signs were said to have been very visible.
The Police Officer under oath testified that she affixed a penalty ticket on the jeep. She told the court that later the same day she passed the same area again when she noticed the jeep still parked at the location but this time Ellison George was seated in it.
The court heard that she approached the man and requested to see his drivers’ license but was told that he had it in his possession but was not going to show her. Prior to that she had asked him to move the jeep into the First Bank parking lot and he complied.
She then proceeded to asking his name and address and before he could have responded she said that she noticed a woman approaching in an angry manner who shouted, “What is going on here?”
The woman identified herself to the police officer as the mother of the man then allegedly said to the cop, “You Police Officers like to F&**^ harass people, you give the boy a ticket already.”
The Police Officer said that the mother’s behavior was of such that it attracted the attention of several persons who ended up gathering around and as the commotion continued the mother tore up the ticket threw it on the ground and in the midst of it all these words were said, “I aint paying no F****** ticket.”
At that stage both mother and son walked away from the scene. The Police Officer told the court that she had intended at that stage to arrest the two and had called for backup but by the time support came they searched the area and neither mother nor son could be found.
The episode continued later that day when according to the allegations of the Police Officer she went to LIME main store where the mother was working and an attempt was made by the Police Officer to arrest her. The woman was behind her desk sitting as she was an employee there.
“I am not going anywhere if you all want me to come with you, you all have to take me out my seat,” again the police testified that the woman behaved aggressively and in a disorderly conduct.
Among other things the court heard that the mother said, “Officer what did I do?”, “I did not do anything, you cannot arrest me on my job, I will call my manager. I am not going anywhere,” alleged the police under oath.
One thing led to another and with back up the woman was allegedly taken out of her chair by back up Police Officer who then handcuffed her. She was taken to another area when her son appeared on the scene and aggressively and with expletives ordered the cops to take the handcuffs off his mother.
“Mehson I say take the F***** handcuffs off my mother,” he continued. Again the commotion attracted a large audience. He was then arrested also and they were both taken to the Road Town Police Station. They were later released on station bail.
The hearing of the matter will continue on March 10, 2015 when they are scheduled to return to court.

Even in NYC if you have a ticket already you have paid for your parking unless it's by a fire pump. How many tickets did the police want to give for the one infraction.
Ms. George Hold your head up, next time I will give you the extra money to fling some more bad world in these over reaching police. Then you come to people job to arrest them? For what?
Some people need to learn some manners, know when to cut their losses, and how to take their lumps like a big boy and girl when they are in the WRONG.
What on earth did she think her manager was going to do for her? SMH. Strupes.
To our legal system, PLEASE make an example out of this couple as a measure of deterrence,,,,,
