ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A stunning smile and gentle eyes that hold a spark of mischief; courage and kindness are the key qualities that first endear you to Trevicia Adams.

Affectionately known to most as "Barbie", she grew up in the popular, diverse community of Newtown, where through the support and encouragement of family and friends, she blossomed from a timid child to a determined, self confident, talented and ambitious young woman.

Being an active member of many youth groups such as the Brownies, Girl Guides and Sunday School Youths, she recalls her childhood years as fun filled with many life changing experiences and adventures. Through these extra-curricular activities Trevicia was taught discipline, time-management and teamwork at an early age.

Trevicia attended the Washington Archibald High School where her skills as a singer and a dancer were strengthened, resulting in her becoming a member of the school's choir and captain of the school's cheerleading team for two years.

Having been invited to choreograph and perform a solo dance at her school's programme she soon quickly realised that singing was only a hobby but dance...dancing was her real love! Enthralled and enticed by the energy, rhythm and freedom of style of dance, Trevicia began her journey as lead dancer of the Okolo Tegremantine Arts Theatre. Her membership in this dance group brought her much satisfaction as she was able to focus on this art form with great enthusiasm and passion.

The past twelve years have taught Trevicia to adapt to the rigorous training and discipline of dance, which she now considers a vital part of her identity. Her familiarity with and love for the stage fostered other keen interests such as modelling, pageantry and cosmetology. Of the three afore-mentioned, Trevicia quickly leaned to pageantry as she thought that with this choice, both modelling and her knowledge of cosmetology could be utilised as asset for her success.

She has participated in a number of pageants, each of which she personally felt she was the winner because of the many skills that were passed on to her. Trevicia boasts a long list of pageants both locally and regionally and has placed in each! She is now the title holder of the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen 2012-2013 and is also confident that she will receive supreme results in this year's Miss Caribbean World Pageant as the representative for her beautiful and historical island of St. Kitts.

Trevicia is not just all beauty and no brains. The proud 21-year-old has eight CXC subjects as well as an Associate Degree in General Studies. She is presently under taking studies to attain a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management.
