The couple, Ken and Jane Young, were from Sudbury and their son, Mikhail, 24, is  being held in Massachusetts on a murder charge.  He was arraigned in Framingham District Court Tuesday.

A Monday evening statement issued by the police in the Virgin Islands said investigators discovered the bodies of Ken Young, 73, and Jane Young, 66, in a rental vacation home.

They had been stabbed to death and may have been dead for several days.  Jane Young's body was found in a bathtub, Virgin Islands Police Commissioner Delroy Richards Sr. said.

Court records show a history of restraining orders filed by the parents against their son.  Mikhail Young had traveled with his parents to the island, police said.

"It is believed Young fled the Virgin Islands and then returned to Massachusetts," Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix said.  “This is a horrific crime where the suspect allegedly killed his own parents."

Jane Young was a teacher at Lincoln-Sudbury High School.   She recently retired.

"Mrs. Young was a well-loved member of the LS math department for 17 years," the school said in an email to parents.

Young was arrested in Sudbury in 2008 for possession of a Class D substance (marijuana) and for being a minor in possession of alcohol, and again in 2010 for assault and battery after a domestic dispute, our news partners at the MetroWest Daily news reported.

The bodies were found in the Sapphire Bay resort area of the U.S. territory's main island of St. Thomas.
