ZION HILL, Tortola, VI - Listing her hobbies as basketball and reading, Marianna Rose of Towers, West End, is now the 2020 recipient of the prestigious Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship (IDMS).

The IDMS scholarship is in memory of the late legislator, Hon Ivan Dawson CBE who on his passing requested that in lieu of flowers, a scholarship be given to the top academic student of the Ivan Dawson Primary School and funds be raised to give it annually.

According to information from the IDMS Committee, Ms Rose; the 19th recipient of the award, is the daughter of Glenford and Mary Rose and the scholarship includes a check valued at US $600.

The funding will go towards purchasing school supplies for the new school year and Marianna said she has big dreams of one day becoming a Lawyer.

The Committee thanked all businesses and individuals for their continued support of the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship.
