Man wanted for attempted murder in STT arrested in Georgia

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI— A man wanted for attempted murder in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands was arrested on Tuesday in Georgia, United States of America (USA) following a vehicular accident, [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

According to Mr Dratte, Jahani Joseph was arrested based on a warrant that was out for his apprehension; his name was placed in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and following the accident, the Atlanta Georgia Police Department ran Mr Joseph’s name through the NCIC system, only to find that Mr Joseph was wanted for attempted murder in St Thomas, according to Mr Dratte.

Mr Joseph was extradited back to St Thomas on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 where he is facing attempted murder and first-degree assault charges, according to Mr Dratte.

Unable to make bail of $450,000, Mr Joseph was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
