Man shot to death in St. Thomas, USVI

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, USVI - A man was shot several times in the roadway of Lilliendahl & Marienhoj in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), on the morning of Wednesday, December 12, 2018, leaving him lifeless behind the wheel of his vehicle.

This is according to USVIPD Public Information Officer, Glen Dratte, who said the incident was reported to 911 at 7:17 am on Wednesday.

Officers who came on the scene examined a grey 4-door Honda Civic in the roadway with its engine ignited, with multiple bullet holes in the vehicle.

Further inspection revealed an unresponsive male sitting behind the steering wheel with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and found no vital signs.

The victim’s identity was not provided, as next of kin had yet to be notified.

Wednesday’s homicide brought the total for 2018 to 44 in the USVI, with 13 in the St. Thomas/St. John District and 31 on St. Croix, according to information provided by the USVIPD.
