ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Officers of the Criminal Investigations Department are investigating an aggravated burglary over the weekend where one man received injuries.

The occupant and sole victim stated that on Friday night he had entered his apartment in Botanic Station and was closing the door when a masked man held the door, pointed a gun at him and demanded money. A struggle ensued after which a second assailant entered and fired a shot. The two then fled on foot with a wallet belonging to the victim.

The victim, who received a gunshot wound to his leg, reported the incident with assistance the following day. He was then treated at Peebles Hospital and released.

Persons with information that can assist in identifying the assailants can contact detectives within the Criminal Investigations Department through the RVIPF access number 311.

Persons can also give that information anonymously to Crimestoppers through its Miami-based hotline number 800-TIPS (8477).
