ST. CROIX, USVI — A young man was shot to death outside the Thomas Bakery in Castle Coakley near Sunny Isle, the USVIPD has confirmed to the Consortium.

USVIPD Public Information Officer Toby Derima said the 911 emergency call center received notification of the incident at about 1:10 p.m. today, January 18, 2020.

A person inside Thomas Bakery when the incident occurred said a loud burst was heard as if three shots were discharged at once. Thereafter, loud screams were heard on the outside, prompting patrons inside the bakery and other businesses in the area to head out themselves to see what was going on.

On the outside, the gunshot victim, who is said to have been shot in the head, was lying next to a White Jeep Wrangler in a pool of blood. Following EMS's arrival to the scene, the victim was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead soon after.

The victim was identified as Gyasi Chiverton, 23, of Sion Farm. Today's homicide was the second on St. Croix and second for the year overall in the territory.

On January 12, 2020, a man was shot dead in his residence in Sion Farm.

St Croix is too nice of a Place for some of the People to be so ignorant, foolish or illiterate and for it to be ignored by successive Governments.
It is no use to just sit and say that a person has potential and that person is doing absolutely nothing about his or her potential.
But it is different with St. Croix. St. Croix of it self can do nothing with the great potential that it possesses but my God , St Croix is Pregnant with potential.
If we are to look at all the Virgin Islands ( U.S & British) St. Croix is the only one that can survive on it's own naturally and by that I mean the amount of produce that can be cultivated base on the amount of land and type of soil available is second to none of the other islands.
Is it that the People are too laid back, they don't care, Lazy and think that everything Will just fall in their Laps ,Government after Government just don't care or as some People will put it,"St. Croix or its people is CURSE.
Oh my, I pray to God Almighty that Sooner than later that its Government and People may come to their senses and St Croix potential will be recognized.

Yes, there is a curse on the oppressed and dispossessed. But Yah promised to lift it (at the proper time), and apply it to the nations. Forget about St. Croix potential and stuff like that, it will not be realized anytime soon. Instead, we must endure...... even to the grave.

“...to the last I grapple with thee..." [Herman Melville, Moby-Dick]

Yes, an out-of-context and secular quote, but this part is relevant to us and our condition.

Both the US and BV islands were good up until those island people arrived back in the 60's

    23. That age seems like a call for death of young men in the Virgin islands.
