ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Our senior sources in the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) have confirmed that a man was taken into custody on the night of December 12, 2017 for allegedly having in his possession a quantity of cocaine and Marijuana.

According to our trusted sources, a team of officers comprising mainly of police deployed here to assist in policing the territory following hurricanes Irma and Maria were in the Long Bush area, on the main island of Tortola, and while engaging in a stop and search exercise found the man with the illegal substances.

Up to publication time, it couldn't be determined by this news site whether the quanitiies of both drugs were of commercial or otherwise proportions.

The man has since been charged.

Police did not immediately respond to our queries on the matter.

    Bell them Kats: there is need for far more stop and search; those of us that have nothing to hide will not mind: the officers conducting such operations should be well armed however there are laws that an such officer must adhere too: to many guns all over this little islands(the place so small yet the police have issues get on TOP of the criminal conduct)......

    I am all for stop and search. As a lawabiding citizen, i get pulled over, I hâve no problem allowing the police to search m'y car or person.
