ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The man involved in the early morning accident at Fahie Hill, Tortola, on August 5, 2019 has been identified as Virgin Islander Raequan M. Roberts.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today, August 6, 2019, Roberts, 22, lived in the United States but was on summer break from college.

The young man received severe injuries after the vehicle he was in slammed into a guard rail at Fahie Hill sometime after 10:00am on August 5, 2019.

At least two other persons were injured in the accident, according to reports reaching our newsroom.

Roberts was taken by ambulance to Peebles hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The RVIPF said details surrounding the accident are still unclear; however, investigations are ongoing.

    I am so sad to learn of the tragic accident that took the life of such a promising young man. The family must be devastated as a result of the sudden death of their son. However, God is in control of the situation and only He knows the circumstances surrounding the accident. May his soul Rest In Peace.
