Leeann Forbes laid to rest May 5, 2018 in Sea Cows Bay

SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- It was another sad day and another funeral on Tortola today Saturday May 5, 2018 when a large number of persons turned up to celebrate the life of former civil servant, mother, sister and aunt, Ms Leeann Forbes.

Ms Forbes, who spent her entire career working with the Government of the Virgin Islands, died on April 11, 2018 after being ill for some time. The long-serving civil servant died at the age of 48 and is survived by two children- Ravon Hodge and Rahain Richards.

The service, which took place at the St Paul’s Episcopal Anglican Church in her hometown of Sea Cows Bay, on the main island of Tortola, was led by Reverend Sandra Walters-Malone.

Leeann was Eulogised by her family and longtime friend Mariette Smith who spoke of her commitment to family, sports and discipline, and her love to cook and shop.

The late Ms Forbes also spent years with Government, first at the Inland Revenue Department and then her later years at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The large crowd at the funeral service for the late Leeann Forbes included family from St Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands, civil servants, many softball players, Minister for Education and Culture Hon Myron V. Walwyn (AL), Junior Minister for Tourism Hon Archibald C. Christian (AL), Third District Representative Hon Julian Fraser RA, Leader of the Opposition Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) and political aspirant Mr Julian Willock.

Ms Forbes was buried in the St Paul's Church cemetery.
