ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) says his Ministry is working on giving out land titles to Anegada residents as promised on the 2019 campaign.

Land Titles Soon

The minister revealed those plans on the April 11, 2019, edition ‘The Big Story’ with Host Cathy O. Richards, where he further said that his ministry and team will be making good on the promises as early as April month end.

“My team has been on the ground led by Norvel [Norvel A. Young] and they are doing an amazing job and later on this month I will be right back here on The Big Story where I will be giving out the first set of land titles to Anegadians,” Hon Wheatley said.

According to the Minister, “The people have been waiting too long to get land titles,” however, he said that the initial focus will be on persons living in sections of The Settlement, Anegada.

The first time legislator also spoke about other plans he is currently working on in his capacity of Ninth District Representative and a Minister of government. These include the cleaning up of Virgin Gorda (VG), revamping of the Labour department and looking at the seabed protection and preservation amongst other plans.

Opposition Support

However, Hon Wheatley says the VIP government since taking office following the February 25, 2019, General Election, has been getting help in carrying out its mandate.

The minister revealed that the administration is receiving the full support of opposition members and they continue to work closely, as well as with other Government ministers, to ensure projects in the various districts are executed.
