VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- A king without a crown was Reynold "King Paido" Phillip until early this morning, April 17, 2017 when he was crowned the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival 2017 Calypso Monarch at the Bernice Sprauve Festiville in Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda.

King Paido overthrew the 2016 Monarch Roland O. Viera aka Chico B with his songs "Who Is Paying Attention" and "Happy Fifty Years".

It was a return to the monarchy for King Paido as he was crowned VG Calypso Monarch back in 2015.

Chico B was named First Runner Up, Joycelyn Searles aka Sistah Joyce Second Runner Up and Shevone A. Findlay aka Teacher Akua Third Runner Up.

Apart from the crown and bragging rights, King Paido pocketed a cash prize of $5000.
