Kelvin E. Hodge appointed member of Public Service Commission

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Mr Kelvin. E. Hodge has been appointed to serve as a member of the Public Service Commission for a period of one year effective March 26, 2019.

According to a release from the Government Information Service (GIS), dated May 2, 2019, His Excellency the Governor Augustus J. U. Jaspert, acting after consultation with the Civil Service Association, made the appointment in accordance with section 91 (1) (d) of the Constitution.

The other members of the Commission are Mrs. Magdaline Rymer, Mrs. Keturah Crabbe, Mrs. Violet DeCastro, and Mr. Lloyd Black. Mrs. Magdaline Rymer serves as the Chairperson of the commission.

Mr. Hodge was nominated by Virgin Islands Civil Service Association.

He is a business entrepreneur and is owner and manager of Kelly’s Hardware Store, West End, Tortola. He has served the Public Service for 37 years working with the Department of Information Technology and the Treasury Department, Government of the Virgin Islands.

The Public Service Commission’s role is to provide advice on appointments to public offices and to remove and exercise disciplinary control over persons holding or acting in such offices in consultation with His Excellency the Governor
