ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – An explosion of interest from young boys and girls in tennis has prompted the Tortola Sports Club to team up with JML Deliver IT to organise a fun tournament for U10’s and U12’s as part of World Tennis Day in March 2014.

The Tortola Sports Club with the support of JML Deliver IT will be holding the tournament for U10 and U12 Boys and Girls, including a parent-child doubles tournament, on Saturday March 8, 2014 and Sunday March 9, 2014 as part of the World Tennis Day Global celebrations, which is officially held on March 3, 2014.

The tournament will feature two singles draws and two doubles draws, with the U10 age group playing singles on mini courts with the Lawn Tennis Association approved “red” slower less bouncy balls.

The U12’s will play singles on regular sized courts and in addition all children taking part will be able to invite one of their parents/guardians or family members to join them for the doubles.

“In the last several months, we have seen a big interest from young kids wanting to learn tennis” commented Amine Elouazzani, TSC Head Tennis Professional and tournament Director “We have children as young as four in our programme and all the children are improving quickly. In order to keep the excitement for the game and to keep the improvement continuous, we want to provide a series of fun competitions or games for the youngsters and involve the parents too, to make it an enjoyable family activity.”

Elouazzani also noted that the TSC was very excited to have JML Deliver IT as title sponsors as they were great supporters of tennis and youth development within the Territory.

On behalf of JML, Chairman and Founder of the Company, Ms. Roxie Romney said “JML Deliver IT is so excited to be a part of this new initiative and looks forward to the future of tennis development in the VI.”

Registration forms are available by sending an email to tennis.bvi@gmail.com and registration is open until February 25, 2014.

Also supporting the event will be Digicel, which will be providing prizes for a raffle as well as combining with JML Deliver IT to create monthly scholarships for the Tortola Sports Clubs tennis programmes.
