CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- The Virgin Islands National ‘All Stars’ Basketball Team has been gaining valuable experience at the Paradise Jam Tour in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (USVI), playing against collegiate level Division One teams from the United States of America (USA).

The team has been unable to register a win in four games so far but has been growing in confidence against their more experienced opponents.

The Virgin Islands’ latest game was against Northern Kentucky at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Gymnasium today, August 10, 2019.

The VI team lost 68-91 but had a much improved second half as Northern Kentucky only outscored them by two points, 41-39 in the second half.

Northern Kentucky had won the first encounter against the VI, 93-64, on August 8, 2019.

The next game for the VI is on August 22, 2019, against Umass.

The Paradise Jam Tour runs from August 7 to August 24, 2019. The other teams involved are University of Calgary, Youngstown State, Abilene Christian and the USVI.

The VI squad

The Virgin Islands All Stars team comprises Romain Minott, Eral Penn, Stephon Caul, Kimron Telemaque, Malachy Payne, Elroy Bollers, Vedal Penn, Riquan Fahie, Revaughn Sprauve and Steve E. Parillon.

The team is coached by Byron Brewley aka ‘Bash’.
