'I will not be bullied!' Skelton-Cline accuses Governor of probing his Gov't contract
"It has come to my understanding that the sitting governor... that he is now looking into, investigating the contract that I currently have with the government because of what I have been speaking out about," Skelton-Cline said on the Thursday, June 25, 2020, edition of his radio show.
'I will not be silenced' - Skelton-Cline
While not revealing how he was privy to such information, Skelton-Clone said he will not be intimidated, bullied, nor silenced over his outspokenness in the VI.
"This is exactly the kind of discrimination when one uses their power. I'm here as a private citizen, I'm not a public officer, I'm not a civil servant and I am out here speaking for those who don't have a voice... and the sitting governor is looking into me?" he said.
"I want the governor to be aware that I am aware of some of these conversations that [are] taking place behind the scenes and this will not be accepted, tolerated, I will not be silenced!"
Mr Skelton-Cline further pointed out that his outspokenness about the Governor is not aimed at Governor Jaspert specifically, rather the officer of the Governor, its power and what it represents in the constitution.
'Governor making it personal' - Skelton-Cline
"And now he is going to take and make this personal? Threaten me, threaten my livelihood, threaten my family, that's what it is!' Skelton-Cline said.
Skelton-Cline continued, "That I as a son of the soil can't make money in my own country, I can't provide a service and receive a fee? The devil is a liar as we would say in church."
'If it's not true, I am inviting you to come on this programme and correct the record," he said, noting that the allegation is one that boils his blood.
"That ain't no chip on the shoulder, that's a knee on my neck... Governor Jaspert, it's unacceptable," he said.
Skelton-Cline also said the Governor's privilege is ascribed, as such, any Governor sitting in the office is a public officer that has powers according to the constitution, but not powers to be abused or to be overreaching into the affairs of the local government.
It as on June 23, 2020, during the House of Assembly (HoA) that Fourth District Representative, Hon Mark H. Vanterpool accused the sitting Governor, H.E. Augustus J.U. Jaspert, along with past Governors, of what he called 'intimidation' of the democratically elected Premier of the Virgin Islands to lead the Territory, according to the mandate of the people.

breaks cover. It is now exposed for the perfect shot. You may have been duped to reveal your hand. Too many people in my opinion, are playing the victim. Let me say this, Governor Jaspert will be long gone. Regardless to who comes after, even if it is one of our own these same scenes will be played out.
Some have concluded the governor in my opinion may be a rac**t
if the government e ters a contract with a private individual the we the people have a right to know where that money is being soebt and what we get in return. I remember when this conteaxt was announced last year...premier said...on record...." you had better produce or you will have me to answer to and you.ll ve fired " or words to that effect.
so..lwts hear it Mr. SC. what have you done for us.
the govenor along with any private citizen has a right to know what you were hired to do and what you have produced...transparancy. to say the govenor is threatening your family is noncense. you are upset that someonw in supposed authority is asking questions of you...quite with the conspiricy theory please. i.d be happy to come on your show and ask you the questions.
I wonder sir if the Premier or the HOS were asking you the same question i you.d have the same reaction.
respectfully submitted
1. If u keep knocking on the devil’s door sooner or later someone will answer .(Meaning if u keep looking for trouble eventually u will find it)
2. If u stab the devil in his back, payback to him isn't vengeance, it's justice..
By no means I am saying the Gov. is a devil. I think he’s the best Gov we’ve had so far.. he keep tabs on things since all of the slothful spending of our last administration.. not saying he’s perfect but I believe he tries to do his best...in the past have we had any Gov better than him?...and as someone said where is our value for money re: your exuberant contracts... how exactly do you consult our Govt; in what capacity?...
The people were made fools of a project that was overspent and nothing was done. Not to mention the port authority was one of the richest statutory boards and now their workers getting pay cuts and no explanation is giving to the people why and how it happened, was crime involved or just fiscal irresponsibility to spend that kind of money on one project while the ports of entry was in shambles even before the hurricane.
.comphre....read between the lines that wat common sense are for ....and yes oppression victimiz....of racism to anyone is a treat to that one and there family...400 year ain't proof
