'I heard me & Fraser looking to put licks on Governor'- Hon Turnbull
Mr Turnbull was at the time speaking at the Wednesday, June 3, 2020, continuation of the Eighth Sitting of the Second Session of the Fourth House of Assembly (HoA) where he was the first to kick off the debate over the controversial motion brought by the Member for the Third District.
Any member had the right to second the motion - Hon Turnbull
"Even though I was the one to second the motion because I had no idea of where the member was going, it is still any member(s) in the house right to second the motion to have and get an understanding of what is going to be developed," Hon Turnbull told the House.
He said, however, that while he blindly seconded to reprimand the Governor over the late tabling of the BVI Airways audit report in the HoA, he would have interjected if things went 'off track' with Hon Fraser.
"If the Member for the Third District had got up and made his claim and I second or anyone second it and he had gone grossly off course from saying things that I do not believe or support, it would have been my duty at this point, Mr Speaker, to get up and say I seconded the motion, but I don't agree with what the member said."
No collusions
Hon Turnbull has since indicated that he supports the motion; however, has sought to distance himself from any notion that he and Hon Fraser colluded to take on the Governor.
"When we adjourned on Thursday I think it was... I hear that me and Fraser looking to put licks on the Governor and we have joined the fight to beat-up on the UK and we are finally joining this campaign... about this never-ending seemingly open battle with the governor and the UK."
Mr Turnbull said that the intention of the motion from his understanding was never to 'bash the governor' or 'pick a fight,' but rather, about the importance of the HoA as an institution.
His revelation to the House has also shown that Mr Fraser acted alone and may not have consulted with the Opposition Leader, Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8), or the other Opposition Members before moving the motion.
It may also have shown that there is a lack of unity and trust in the 'tri-party' Opposition.

Mitch knows that every member of the house has a right to bring a motion, however that does not translate into have the right to second any motion.
The motion can only get life if it is allowed on the Order Paper or seconded.
He is complicit in his actions in support of Fraser's motion no matter how he spins it.
The fact that the Speaker allowed it meant he wanted Fraser to make a fool of himself, and the fact that Mitch seconded the motion meant that he like Fraser made a fool of himself.
total mockery.Blame the governor for that too.
