‘I am undisturbed’ - Skelton-Cline on church distancing self from him

-Says worried about effects on family; ‘Sometimes I wish I was single’
Following the bombshell news on February 14, 2019, that the Board of Trustees of the New Life Baptiste Church (NLBC) in Duffs Bottom, Tortola has distanced itself from ZBVI ‘Honestly Speaking’ radio host, Claude O. Skelton-Cline over his behaviour on the political front, the man of the cloth has finally broken his silence. Photo: Facebook
During the Tuesday, February 19, 2019, edition of his radio show which was a combination of “Honestly Speaking” and 'VIP Radio' on ZBVI 780am radio, the script was flipped when political aspirant and former Permanent Secretary, Mr Julian Willock grilled Skelton-Cline on the topic, in what was considered a very unorthodox episode of the show. BAUGHER'S BAY, Tortola, VI – Following the bombshell news on February 14, 2019, that the Board of Trustees of the New Life Baptiste Church (NLBC) in Duffs Bottom, Tortola has distanced itself from ZBVI ‘Honestly Speaking’ radio host, Claude O. Skelton-Cline over his behaviour on the political front, the man of the cloth has finally broken his silence.

Distraction & Diversion

“On the matter of the church… I just think that whole thing they instigate comes as a distraction and a diversion from what the people ought to be focused on, we are in an election cycle and this election is about change in the BVI,” Mr Skelton cline said in answer to a question seeking to bring clarity to the issue.

According to Mr Skelton-Cline, “As the son of this soil, part of my anointing within the four walls of the church and outside the four walls of the church… is to speak truth to power wherever it is and so when you have that kind of a flow and anointing, you become a target from family, from friends, from church and from the outside.”

Mr Skelton-Cline futher says he plans to address the issue internally with the church, however, he notes that the perceived 'distance' does not prevent him from preaching.

I wish I was single – Skelton-Cline

“Sometimes I wish only that I was single, and that way I won’t have a family I would worry about because you don’t want your family to be going through some of the stuff that they have to go through because of the calling on your own life,” he said.

Responding to Mr Willock he said, “So the church distanced themselves from my political modus operandi and the truth of the matter is… there are some things I will have to address internally in the life of our church, so that portion I will not [say] in the public because I don’t think it advances the local church,” he uttered.

“I am undisturbed by it, and I have a single focus and vision… in this season is to ensure that the people of this territory receive the truth as it comes to me… we want persons to make informed decisions in this upcoming General Elections,” Mr Skelton-Cline implored as he plans to continue his work as a political and social commentator.

The whole thing is twisted. The clip did not say that the church distanced itself from Claude. It distanced itself from comments he made on political rostrum and on his radio talk show.
Please listen to the clip again.

Many people are walking around trying to create mischief and Claude is clever so he uses it to his benefit. The church's statement separates itself from any behavior on the rostrum that would cause injury to any person's life, limb or reputation. The church separated itself from any lawsuits from his behavior and not the man himself. The church knows this, the statement said this and Claude knows this. So next please, as this is a non-issue. He conducted bible study last night and above he says he is still preaching. So, is that separation from him or separation from his statement.

Distancing oneself from behavior which can cause liability is different from distancing oneself from a person. The church said the former and not the latter. Either we cannot read or we like confusion.

Since you asking for the truth Claude, tell us. Why did you remove the guys that was working at Pier Park to work on your personal home when you were at Ports. Is this right?

    Wow

That’s why I say that pastors should not get involved in politics in my previous blog because the worst of their behavior will be seen. What an insult to the churches, family and friends expecially us. Just look at how the devil is using you, big time. I call on all the pastors, leaders and pray warriers to get on your knees for his deliverance because satan is about to sift him as wheat. Let us watch and pray for this country. This guy should have taken from the political podium long time. God has spared our lives and we were coming together in love and harmony and soon as we get a little comfortable, this guy come with all his hatred and malice and deposit it on us so we are becoming like him. Birds of a the same feather flock together.

Pastor, please for God sake , repent and forgive and look to God for mercy.

People of the BVI choose wisely.
