BAUGHER’S BAY, Tortola, VI- The Elite Summer Basketball League ‘jumped-off’ on Friday, June 1, 2018, last, with organizer—veteran Steve E. Parillon confirming eight teams for the tourney.

This, despite a no-show from players for the first two games—Mystics vs Right Mix and Rockers vs Guns, leading to forfeiture. The evening’s play nonetheless, saw two of the scheduled four games, the first where the ‘Disciples’ blew out the ‘Hurricanes’ 69-51.

The Hurricanes were led in their bid by Douran Phillips, who netted 20 points. Tavon J. Phillips added 13points, and Nathaniel J. Malone scored a noteworthy 9 points. Disciples were led by D. Douglas and Steve E. Parillon with 10 points each and T. Maduro with 7 points.

Other games played on opening night at the Elite Summer Basketball League, saw Rebels defeating 'Jam Session' 56-53.

The ‘Rebels’ were led by Dione M. Blyden who managed to score 16 points, while Ryan R. Alfred and Noel McKelly hooped 10 points each. 'Jam Session' was led by Jason A. Edwin and Dwayne M. Stoutt with 12 points each.

Games continue this evening Saturday, June 2, 2018, and will start at 6:00 P.M., according to Mr Parillon.
