Hon Ralph T. O’Neal returns to VI in time for 83rd birthday

- said to be recovering well & resting comfortably @ home after suffering a stroke back in September

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Virgin Islands first Premier and retired legislator Hon Ralph T. O’Neal OBE has returned to the territory after undergoing medical care and rehabilitation in the United States.

Hon O’Neal, who incidentally is celebrating his 83rd birth anniversary today, December 15, 2016, arrived in the territory last evening, December 14, 2016 according to his daughter Abby O’Neal.

“The family of Hon Ralph T. O'Neal OBE is very pleased to inform the public that Hon O'Neal arrived in the territory last evening just in time to celebrate his 83rd birthday at home today, December 15th,” Ms O’Neal stated in a press release.

Hon O’Neal had suffered a stroke on Friday September 30, 2016 and was taken overseas for medical care and rehabilitation.

“Hon O'Neal's recovery continues to be very good and he is currently resting comfortably at home,” Abby O’Neal continued.

The family expressed appreciation to the people of the territory for their prayers and support.

“Special thanks and words of gratitude are extended to the many government agencies, officers and individuals for their professional and personal involvement during this most trying period from the time of Hon O’Neal’s admittance to Peebles Hospital to his return home.

“While Hon O'Neal is looking forward to having visitors over the holiday season, during this period of recovery it is advised that visitations be limited and in any regards by appointment only. Your understanding is greatly appreciated,” the press release stated.
