Hon Christopher to Lie in State on Friday, Cultural Extravaganza at HLSCC

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI: Family, friends, elected members of the Virgin Islands’ Legislature, school children and ordinary residents of the fifth district will pay their respect on Friday November 2, 2018 when the body of the late Hon Delores Lettsome-Christopher (R5) will lie in state at the House of Assembly (HoA) in Road Town, the capital city.

According to Government Spokeswomen Desiree Smith, between 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Friday, November 2, 2018, the body will be viewed by immediate family members, current and former members of the HoA, along with officials from overseas.

Then from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM it’s open to public viewing, Ms Smith confirmed.

Big Cultural event at College

Meanwhile, in the late Legislator's honour, the Government of the Virgin Islands (VI) will be hosting a big cultural extravaganza for Mrs Christopher at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College at the Eleene L. Parsons Auditorium, at Paraquita Bay on the same Friday, November 2, 2018, at 6:30 PM.

The event will feature tributes from other elected Members including Second District Representative Hon. Melvin M. Turnbull.  Tributes will also be given by former Legislator Eleene L. Parsons OBE, students from the Youth Empowerment Centre (YEP) as well as the BVI Chambers of Commerce, among others.

Part of the highlight of the cultural programme will be a skit put on by Ms Janice A. Stoutt & Co. as well as the H. Lavity Stoutt Stingrays and the fifth district’s own Extreme Band.

      That event which I am sure will be well attended should have been held at the multi purpose complex but then I forgot that is a forgotten establishment. The damn electricity got cut from that place man can’t even go play a lil street ball. Yet these fools continue daily to outfit other business owners place n neglecting their own.
