ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – “Having an up-to-date Will continues to be the best option available to make sure that all your assets are given to whomever you choose when you can no longer give those directions in person.“

Those are the words of Vareen Vanterpool-Nibbs, Senior Associate and member of the Private Wealth team at Harneys.

The renowned law firm has commenced its annual free Wills drive, offering members of the Virgin Islands () public, aged 60 and over, the opportunity to have their simple Wills written or updated free of charge.

For those interested in having a Will drawn up, but who are not yet 60 years of age, Harneys is offering discounts of up to 40 per cent.

Avoid legal challenges & complications

“This important step provides clear instructions in this regard to ensure that your family and other loved ones avoid legal challenges and complications,” Vanterpool-Nibbs added.

Harneys further said whatever the exact reasons for a Will, it is a positive step and provides peace of mind.

Persons can call 494 2233 to find out more and to make a free consultation appointment.

Harneys said appointments are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

      I agree we black people do not like to do wells, then once we go to the ancestors our children and family fight for months and years over our belonging

        No matter what you do some people are always negative. The flyer says clearly the Will is free. It doesn't say all legal services are free. Obviously is you have other matters that are not listed as free then those services are not fee. We need to read and comprehend.

    Nice to see such an initiative from Harneys. Contrary to what @lol says - this should actually reduce the need for lawyers to get involved "on the back end" - a clearly written and easily understood document from the deceased eliminates the oportunity / need for litigation.
