BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- Sometime before 10:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, gunshots were heard in the vicinity of the Baughers Bay area outside a popular bar.

Police are currently investigating the incident, but eyewitnesses have said that they have heard loose shots being fired in the area.

    There were about 12 rifle shots fired at 3.15am Fri morning from Baughers Bay too. I was surprised it wasn't reported.

    The place is lawless.

    The Immigration Department needs to do an end of year sweep. Unfortunately some of them are locals, but who aren't has got to go. This is not good for our country and many who are wreaking havoc according to the streets no abla engles.

    Weh Ulger and his Force? He should have some ideas of how to contain this. Let the over 350 police officers drive around these neighbourhoods. Why our tax dollars paying for all these officers to sit in the station? We want to see them and the criminals will see them too and hide.

    This is the reason I made the decision to relocate from Tortola to Anegada with my wife and young child where it is more quiet and less stress from living in Tortola.

      That was a good idea and a great move. I moved from Tortola a year ago to one of the smaller sister Island Island and it was one of my best decisions I have made so far. I only go to Tortola if I have to. I can sleep in peace, walk around in peace, no constant loud noise, no rude and obnoxious scooter riders and no random gunshots at nights.

      I would hope this is one of the things the New Police Commissioner is considering working on/putting in place. Then and again, the idiots on the Island that is against vetting will also be against shot spotter.

    If the BVI want to clean up this crime problem, they can. They are not enforcing this because family members is involved and they don’t want to exposed the family members that is involved. You have seniors that is afraid to venture outside or sit outside in their yard and get some fresh air.

    In 1968 almost 60 years ago this was never heard of or experienced or took place in the BVI. What has become of the BVI?
