ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- (Post Time 7:20 PM) - Nearly a year after Ms Caryl O’Neal was forced out of the post of Principal of the Bregado Flax Educational Centre (BFEC) in Virgin Gorda, it has been announced that Ms Glenda I. A. Stevens of the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) will take up the post.

This was revealed by Acting Principal of ESHS, Ms Sandy M. Underhill at the ESHS Graduation Ceremony at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex today, June 25, 2015.

Virgin Islands News Online had broken the story in September 2014 that Ms O’Neal was being sent on retirement even after she had indicated a willingness to continue at the school for another year despite allegedly being frustrated by the mirco-management style of Education Minister Hon Myron V. Walwyn.

It was this news site's understanding at the time that interviews were being conducted by the Teaching Service Commission with the two names on the top of the list being Mr Paul Fenty, Assistant Principal of the Bregado Flax Educational Centre Secondary Division, and Ms Glenda I. A. Stevens.

Mr Fenty was subsequently named Acting Principal but will be replaced by Ms Stevens in the new academic year.

At the time of announcing that Ms Stevens would be heading over to BFEC, Ms Underhill was thanking teachers who would be leaving the school, mostly on retirement.

what is being done for our young people; we now have another set of youth that will be seeking employment: its time to revisit the issuing work permits.we need the safeguard the future for the next generation

The granting of Work Permits with wavers is one thing but to issue two hundred and fifty BELONGER STATUS cards in one week is another. What Dr. Smith is doing is simply disgraceful. He will live to regret it.

Congratulations Ms. Stevens. Whom God has blessed, no man can curse. It's your time to shine even more. However, I know not everyone would be please with your judgments and that's ok. With your professionalism and tremendous background in education, you will do a superb job with Gods’ help. The community rejoices with you. Clean up time!!!!
