ROAD TOWN, Tortola- Digicel, the territory’s leading telecommunication provider, unveiled ‘#GetGifted’ its grand 2016 Christmas campaign; one that all residents will have an opportunity to enjoy.

‘#GetGifted’ celebrates the happiest time of the year—all about quality family time, the joy and happiness of the season and great gifts—for most. The flip side is the hassle it takes to find the right gifts for loved ones and friends, which at times turns out to be bad gift choices –this is something to which many can relate. At Digicel we’re helping to make shopping easy; we have all the right gifts at the right prices in our stores,” said Kareem-Nelson Hull, Digicel Marketing Manager.

The campaign comes on the heels of a tongue-in-cheek Christmas song, ‘Gifted,’ which was released by the company’s Chief Speed Officer, Usain Bolt, on his social media pages. The heavily auto-tuned song immediately became a viral hit, racking up over 6.5 million views just days after its release.”

The Gift of data, cash, prizes, deals and LTE

As part of the festive campaign Digicel customers have the opportunity to ‘Get Gifted’ hundreds of weekly gifts: Bluetooth speakers, tablets, a scooter, a flat screen television, smartphones, free credit and the grand prize $10,000 cash.

Every Friday for the next five weeks Digicel will be hosting “Red Friday” where customers will enjoy the best deals available at Digicel stores on Tortola and Virgin Gorda. Customers will have even more opportunities to ‘Get Gifted’ when they follow Digicel across the territory for their Christmas Road Shows.

Digicel prepaid customers will receive DOUBLE DATA when they activate any prepaid 4G data plan and a FREE 7 day ALL IN Prepaid bundle when they purchase a Digicel DL1, Digicel DL 1 Plus or a Samsung J3 smartphone. While postpaid customers will enjoy massive savings of 60% off Samsung S7 and Samsung S7 Edge smartphones once they activate or upgrade to Digicel’s unBEATable postpaid plan.

It is so easy to ‘Get Gifted’ the $1000 grand prize- Prepaid customers who activate an ALL IN plan, a 4G data plan or top-up $15 or more have a chance to ‘Get Gifted’. The more often people activate plans and top up the more chances they have to ‘Get Gifted’. Digicel Postpaid customers qualify by paying their bill in full and on time, activating a new postpaid plan or adding 4G data to their current plan.

The Gift of Giving

Digicel will be gifting the extraordinary and less fortunate people in our communities through partnerships with the FSN, Tree of Hands and the Children's Home. Additionally, Digicel along with their Brand Ambassadors ShowTime Band and Durnel Sanderson Gen-Y Factor winner will give the gift of music by singing jingles and carols in the community throughout the Christmas season.

Digicel General Manager, Kevin Gordon Commented “The ‘Get Gifted’ campaign is aimed to uplift the Christmas spirit amongst households, the local community and to remind customers this Christmas we know what you want and we are delivering it to you. Our biggest gift of all will be the launch of the BVI’s Biggest, Fastest, LTE 4G network”.
