SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI - In January 2019, Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) featured young businessman Shakeem O. Springette and the launch of his 'Luxury Styles Car Wash and Detailing' shop in Sea Cows Bay. About a year later, the young entrepreneur has expanded by launching a second business called 'On Point Publicity'.

According to Mr Springette, the new business is a one-stop-shop for advertising and public relations in the Virgin Islands.

"We deal with advertisements and publishing. We help promote people and companies by advertising their products and services," he told VINO.

One-Stop PR Shop

Springette said other services also include making signs, logos, photography editing, clothing lines, billboard advertisements, business cards, flyers, consultancy to help boost local businesses and online promotions.

According to the entrepreneur; however, the car wash business will remain a second division of his overall company.

"The car wash was just a start-up, I started it because I noticed people don’t have water at home so we could provide that and a service for them at the same time," he said.

Springette said the reason for his new move into Marketing and PR is due to having experience and because of a promise made to his father, Semor Springette, just before entering business.

"I learned most of what I know from him. I always told him I’ll take over/get into this field because of him. I honestly love it and want to pursue this career," he said.

Future plans & goals

Turning his attention to the future plans for both businesses, he said the plan is to expand the car wash into a detailing centre for people who don’t know or don’t have the time to do it.

He now has an employee, Devon Queeley, handling that aspect of the business.

In terms of the advertising company, Springette said his dream is for it to become a place where "other graphic designers can come together as a group and create a full-fledged agency."

He encouraged other designers to collaborate with his company and said he is also looking forward to the support from the community.

Springette can be reached via Facebook 'On Point Publicity'. Persons can also call 1(284)499-1625 or email onpointpublicity.bvi@gmail.com.
