Freeman & Vanterpool charged after loaded firearm seized

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Police have charged two men in connection with a loaded firearm seized during a stop-search operation this morning, July 25, 2017.

Jazz Freeman, 24, of Fahie Hill and Allison Vanterpool, 47, of Josiah Bay, Tortola will appear in the Magistrate’s Court to jointly face charges of carrying an unlicenced firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Both men were also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis which was also found in the search. An additional drug possession charge was placed against Freeman following a search of his premises.

During the stop/search operation this morning on Waterfront Drive near the Queen Elizabeth Park, traffic officers of Road Policing Unit pulled over a vehicle driven by Allison Vanterpool.

Vanterpool and the other occupant of the vehicle, Jazz Freeman, were searched and the cannabis was discovered. A further search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded 9mm pistol.

Investigations are ongoing in the matter.

    The judge need to hit them hard the law is the law NO GUNS!! Send them up they know right from wrong
