Four to contest for Jr Minister of Title

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Four contestants will vie for this year’s title of Junior Minister of Tourism when the annual debate contest is held at the Training Division Centre in Road Town on May 15, 2014 at 5:30 pm.

Three of the contestants, Nia Douglas, Roliya Jackson, and Johanna Gibson were introduced on April 30, 2014 during the semi-final of the Inter secondary school debates. Colin McDonald was announced as the fourth contestant.

Contestants are from St. Georges Secondary School, Cedar International School, Elmore Stoutt High School and Bregado Flax Educational Centre, Secondary Division.

According to the current Junior Minister of Tourism, Mr Bryan Leue, contestants will debate two topics – Accessible Tourism and Experiential Tourism.

Leue was selected for the post after last year’s winner Avocet Brooks of Elmore Stoutt High School departed the Territory following her win.

The debate is being hosted by the BVI Tourist Board and the Ministry of Education.
