ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- It was some time around 1:00 P.M. on Saturday May 12, 2018 that there was a four-car accident on the James Walter Francis Drive Dual Carriageway.

Luckily, there were only minor injuries and about two persons had to be transported by ambulance to Peebles Hospital in Road Town.

How it happened?

According to information obtained by our newsroom, a car in the front of the 4-car pack stopped on the Dual Carriageway to drop off a passenger. That caused the immediate two vehicles behind to stop but the fourth one was unable to stop in time.

It, therefore, caused a back lash of all four vehicles.

About two persons suffered minor injuries but no broken bones, according to hospital sources.

Traffic on the eastern bound lane was slowed down for about two hours until the roadway was cleared by private wrecker trucks. Police were also on the scene carrying out investigations.

When people are stopping they should use signal lights to alert the driver behind, and if possible, slow up and pull over. We live in a place where we have to pick up and drop off people. Driving too close and fast is irresponsible. The last driver was at fault, since the other cars were stopped already.

I do agree but it's a dual carriage way with a speed limit of 20miles, check with DMW. If the drivers were adhering to the traffic law things would run smotther

The person who stop so stupidly should pay for all of that.

@ saying, the person responsible for all of this is the last car. There were 3 cars stopped in front of him. He was not paying attention or was on the phone, which is the same thing. He was the one who hit the white car and caused the domino effect.
