Flowers while he is living; Bill Board congratulates Kyron!
It was yesterday Monday, April 16, 2018, erected by local sports agencies to show the Territory’s appreciation and support for Kyron A. McMaster, who stormed to the gold medal in the 400m hurdle final at the Commonwealth Games in Australia on April 12, 2018.
BVI Pride
The young 21-year-old Virgin Islands athlete won the first Commonwealth Games medal of any colour for the tiny British Overseas Territory of less than 30,000 people.
McMaster's historic victory was no doubt an emotional one, having to pick himself up and relocate to the United States of America (USA) following the death of his coach Xavier ‘Dag’ Samuels tragically in Hurricane Irma on September 6, 2017.
While it is unclear when the gold medalist will be home, as he is back in the USA training and competing, plans are being made for a grand and elaborate welcome home for Mr McMaster fitting for a king.
