USVI youth sentenced to 20 years for murder of innocent bystander

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI— A 24-year-old man who pleaded guilty to a murder on St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (USVI) in October 2015, was sentenced on Monday September 19, 2016 to 20 years in prison by Superior Court Judge Michael C. Dunston, the local Department of Justice has announced.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE St Thomas, USVI — Forty people have died so far by homicide in the US Virgin Islands (USVI) this year, four of which were vehicular. The latest incident, which occurred in the wee hours of Saturday morning, July 30, 2016, left an innocent bystander — a female St Thomian who was only 20 years old — dead during a shooting that she had no involvement in.
