USVI businessman admits to stealing over $1M from Moneygram

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- A US Virgin Islands (USVI) businessman who operated a franchise under MoneyGram Payment Systems Inc has admitted to embezzling more than $1.4 million from the company, USVI Department of Justice Public Media Officer Corliss Smithen announced on April 11, 2017.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas USVI — US Virgin Islands (USVI) Superior Court Judge Denise Francois has sentenced 2012 Senate candidate Riise Richards to a one-year prison term for embezzling public funds when she worked as the director of the Planning and Research Division in the Virgin Islands Police Department, the VI Department of Justice announced this morning, January 12, 2017.

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- Federal Judge Ruth Miller on Wednesday October 5, 2016 issued an order releasing Wayne A. G. James, who was indicted on October 1, 2015 on two counts of wire fraud and one count of federal programme embezzlement and is facing multiple years imprisonment, to the custody of his sister Grete James Garcia, and her husband Kwame Garcia.
