ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- All is well that ends well is a popular saying that could be applied to the closing performances of the Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival 2016.

International entertainers from the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin, who happen to be a married couple, had the crowd on their toes during their near two-hour performance to help close celebrations for this year's Emancipation Festival at the Rita Francis Festiville earlier this morning, August 7, 2016.

The energetic performance, which started shortly after midnight, ended close to 2:00 A.M. with the couple belting hits from all across the Caribbean, including their own, making their stage presence one to be remembered.

The legendary Robert Nester ‘Bob’ Marley, Buju Banton, WCK, mingled with their Soca tunes: Hands in the air, That is carnival, Break me, Runaway, Turn up, to name a few, were crowd favourites.

Many were seen dancing to the rhythms all night long.

The Rita Francis Festiville saw performances from international artistes such as Beenie Man, Destra Garcia, Sizzla Kolanji, and the French band, Kassav for this year’s festival.

VIBE given honour of closing act

Meanwhile, 3-time Road March Champion, VIBE was also given the honour of performing last and officially closing the 2016 celebrations.

VIBE was formed three years ago and ever since has successfully swept the trophy for the Road March, 2016 being no different.

The band placed on public record its gratefulness for being chosen as Road March Champion and the entire public for supporting the band over the years.
